This was our 1st year in a competitive league and to start with I think it was a bit of a shock to the system playing the team who eventually won the league and they convincingly beat us with a score that was well in to double figures! But after that initial shock we got down to it and the score lines started going down and down. Around October time we picked up our 1st and only win of the season against Golden Valley B in style with a 3-2 win which i was working through and not there! After this win we found goals alot easier to come by but were still struggling to find another win.. We continued through the season with matches getting closer and closer all the time but still not picking up another victory but plenty of goals on the way. Our summer presentation was held at cattle country for the 1st time this year which was a hugh success with both kids and parents alike. the combination of a play area for the children and a bar for the adults. what could go wrong. We had four awards for the season to give out they were, Supporters player of the year that was won by Sam Pearson, Players Player of the year that was picked up by Sam Stanton who was the youngest player on our team ( a whole year younger than most ) Managers Player for which i chose Ben Creed who was also our top goal scorer for the season and one final award which was the player of the match trophy which was awarded for the person(s) who were voted player of the match the most times by our opposition. This award was jointly won by our goalkeeper Kira Howard and Libby Herbert who has now moved on to play for the girls team. During the summer we played in 2 6 a side tournaments. One at Quedgeley's new ground which also marked the debut for Oliver Loveridge and Ryan Burrows. We played well in this tournament but slightly missed out on qualification but a good performance by all involved. The second was our own 6 a side held at oldends Lane this time marking the debut of Mason Jacoota. Again a good performance by all picking up a win and 4 losses so no qualification but well done to all on a very hot day! Heres looking forward to next season.
