This was a very close, tough football match between two good teams. Un-defeated Rodborough probably assumed this would be an easy cup victory against Stonehouse, but they would have been greatly mistaken. For Stonehouse not only matched Rodborough in terms of commitment, they truly took the game to them throughout. The game was even with both teams going from one end to the other, with niether gaining the upper hand. It was looking more and more likely that this game was heading for extra time, because the teams were deadlocked right up until the last five minutes. Then an error by the Stonehouse keeper gifted Rodborough the lead, this was to be the only goal scored in the game. So Rodborough won this cup match in the end, but they were given an almighty scare and luck played it's part. Poor Stonehouse did not deserve to lose like this, and once again they proved they were equal to the best teams around.
